Honest Jump · last updated 10 September 2026

Honest Jump measures a countermovement jump from the motion sensors of the phone held against your chest. This page lists what it stores, where it is kept, and how to have it deleted.

What is stored

What is not stored

Counting use

The app records when it is opened, when a jump is analysed, and when one is saved. During the beta the researchers running the study read these counts.

Each record holds which of the three happened, when, and which account. Nothing about the jump: no height, no force, no curves, no athlete. It stays in the same database as everything else, and deleting your account deletes it.

Visits

Page visits are counted by Vercel, which hosts this site. This is the only count that includes people who are not signed in.

No cookies, and no visit is tied to your account. The address is cleaned first, so an athlete's id never leaves the app. Vercel receives that cleaned address plus what any web server sees: your IP address, your browser, and the page you came from. Visits are kept for one month.

Ads

One ad appears below a jump report, served by Google AdSense. It is the only ad in the app.

Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure it. That includes your IP address, the page the ad is on, and whether the ad was seen or clicked, as Google describes in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

This app sends the ad nothing. Your account, your athletes and your measurements never reach it, and the ad code cannot read them. You can turn personalisation off at My Ad Center.

Where it is kept

Records are stored in our database, where a rule ties every row to the account that created it, so one account cannot read another's. Analysis runs on our backend, which holds a jump only while it works out the answer.

Delete

Swipe an athlete left and confirm to delete them and every jump recorded for them. To delete your account, open your profile and press Delete account. That removes the account, the athletes under it and every measurement.

This is a beta

Measurements may be lost while the app changes. Results are for training and research. This is not a medical device and does not diagnose anything.
