Honest Jump · last updated 9 October 2026 · in effect from 2 October 2026

Honest Jump measures a countermovement jump from the motion sensors of the phone held against your chest. This page lists what it stores and why, who sees it, who handles it for us, how long it is kept, and how to have it deleted.

Who is responsible

Honest Jump is run by 어니스트무브 (Honest Move), a sole proprietorship owned by 김훈 (Hoon Kim) and registered in the Republic of Korea. Honest Move decides what is collected and why, and answers for it.

Why we may use it

Athletes

An athlete you register has no account and may never see this page. Honest Move asks you, the coach, to tell them what is stored and to get their agreement before you register them. If they are under 14, the agreement must come from a parent or guardian, as Korean law requires. The app will not save a new athlete until you confirm this, and it keeps the time you confirmed.

An athlete, or their parent or guardian, can ask us directly to see, correct or delete what is stored about them, or to withdraw their agreement, using the contact details above. If the agreement is withdrawn, we delete the athlete and their jumps.

Accounts are for people aged 14 and over. The app does not let anyone younger finish signing up, and they can delete the account straight away from the same screen. If they leave without deleting it, the account keeps only what Google gave at sign-in and the days the app was opened.

Who sees it

Counting use

The app records when it is opened, when a jump is analysed, when an analysis fails, and when a jump is saved. During the beta the people at Honest Move running it read these counts, as described under Who sees it.

Each record holds which of these happened, when, and which account. Nothing about the jump: no height, no force, no curves, no athlete. The records stay in the same database as everything else, and deleting your account deletes them.

Visits

Page visits are counted by Vercel, which hosts this site. This is the only count that includes people who are not signed in.

No cookies, and no visit is tied to your account. The address is cleaned first, so an athlete's id never reaches Vercel. Vercel receives that cleaned address plus what any web server sees: your IP address, your browser, and the page you came from.

Your browser

Honest Jump sets no cookies. It keeps a few things in your browser's own storage: your sign-in, so you stay signed in; your language; whether this tab has shown the intro; and a measured jump waiting to be saved while you sign in again, until it is saved or the tab is closed. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.

Who handles it for us

Honest Move has these companies run parts of Honest Jump on its behalf. Each gets only what its part needs, at the moment the app needs it, over an encrypted connection. All three are American companies, so using Honest Jump transfers your data abroad as described here.

These transfers are how the app works, so they cannot be turned off one at a time. To refuse them, do not sign in, or delete your account. Without an account you cannot analyse or save a jump, and only the three requests under Without an account are sent.

Signing in with Google

You sign in with your own Google account, so Google LLC, in the United States, learns that you signed in to Honest Jump. Google handles that under its own privacy policy, not on our behalf.

Without an account

Nothing you type or measure leaves your phone. Opening the app still sends three requests that are tied to no account: the page and visit to Vercel, a request to Supabase for the plan limits, and the request that wakes the analysis server at Render. Each carries your IP address and browser. Vercel also gets the cleaned page address and the page you came from.

How long it is kept

No law requires us to keep any of it longer. Our database plan keeps no backups, so a deletion is final at once. If that changes, this page will say how long backups are kept.

Delete

Swipe an athlete left and confirm to delete them and every jump recorded for them. To delete your account, open your profile and press Delete account. That removes the account, the athletes under it, every measurement, the failed-jump recordings, the analysis times and the usage counts. They are deleted from the database and cannot be restored. Only the sign-in records and the logs listed under How long it is kept outlast it, until they expire.

If you cannot reach the button, write to us and we will delete the account within 10 days.

Your rights

You can ask to see what is stored about you, get a copy of it, have it corrected, have its use stopped, or have it deleted. Write to the email address above. We answer within 10 days, and it costs nothing. You can also do this through a parent or guardian, or through someone you authorise in writing. Your profile and your athletes can also be edited in the app.

Measurements may be lost while the app changes. Results are for training and research. This is not a medical device and does not diagnose anything.

Changes

When this page changes, the dates at the top change with it. If a change means collecting something new, or using it for something new, it is posted here at least 7 days before it takes effect.

Earlier versions: 10 September 2026.
